New Year's Resolutions (Part 1)

New Year's Resolutions 2010

1. Lose Weight. Exercise more. We've decided to convert a room in our house into a gym. It was completed this weekend. My diet starts Monday, the first full week of the year. I'm going to try to do at least one home fitness video per day if I don't use my gym equipment.. such as my bike, treadmill, or punching bag. I'm also on my last straw trying to lose weight. I'm still going to try to be consistent with my nutrition and exercise, but this year I'm actually going to look into getting a lap band. I'm not giving up, but I need help. I've been struggling for a LONG time. I've had it!! We'll see what this year brings.....maybe I should do a countdown. I need an end date to complete my goal whether my weight loss is done naturally or with the help of a lap band.

Still needs work...
2.Paint. I'm going to make more time to paint. I'm going to join more painting classes and continue to work on paintings for my family and friends. I LOVE painting! I need to set time aside for this. It's one of my stress relievers.

3. Blog. I want to try to blog at least once a day. I enjoy blogging and I plan to improve it. It's therapy. Another stress reliever in my life. I'm also going to finish setting up my hubby's blog. I convinced him to start blogging. He loves MMA and he trains ALL the time. I thought it would be a good idea for him to share his experiences. I thought it would also be good for me to write my perspective as a fighter's wife. It can get pretty challenging juggling family, friends, training, and work.

4. Get Organized. I've never thought about "getting organized" as a resolution. Maybe it comes with turning "30"!! Yikes! But, it seems like life has been a little more chaotic than normal. I think mostly because I haven't had stability in work, school, and location (we moved in March 2009). I should be organized even when chaos hits. I need a plan A and a plan B. I need to organize my life, OUR LIFE!, and have a balance between work, school, and family.

5. Repair Our Credit. Yes. Our credit is terrible!! In 2001, when my husband completed his term in the military everything went downhill for us. No careers=No money. That's what motivated us to go back to school to gain better careers and get us out of our slump. During that time my husband's appendix burst, he was diagnosed with cancer, and I was pregnant with our first son and couldn't work. So here we were jobless, broke, and disabled. Oh, and we were scammed by our insurance company and ripped off by some pyramid fraud that takes advantage of disadvantaged people. So here we are...9 years later and STRUGGLING to fix our credit because of course our economy takes a plunge as well.
I'll stop here for now. I had a list in my head, but I forgot a few things. I'm like Dory in the movie Nemo. Short term memory. LOL.

Goodnight everyone and I hope that everyone had a great new year!! May all your wishes, dreams, and resolutions come true!!

  1. Thanks for stopping by my blog (months ago). I was out of town when you commented and I filed it away for later. Know how that is?

Glad to hear you're going to be painting more this year. Art adds a lot of joy to my life. I've joined the painting group in Silver Lakes. I'm the only one doing non-representational work, but I enjoyed the camaraderie the time I went. I'll be going back!

I'll stop by and check in on you again soon! Take care.
